&SONS

&SONS is a British menswear label founded in 2016 by photographer Phil James, born out of his frustration at not being able to find high-quality, heritage-inspired workwear in one place. From the beginning, &SONS aimed to dress what the brand calls the “forgotten middle” — style-conscious men in their 40s to 60s often overlooked by mainstream fashion. Influenced by vintage workwear, classic Americana and rugged utilitarian clothing, the brand’s aesthetic emphasises functional, long-lasting pieces: chore jackets, selvedge denim jeans, overshirts and utility trousers. Over time &SONS has committed to craftsmanship and sustainability: by 2019 many of its garments were reportedly made in the UK, and the brand has since introduced recycling initiatives and even launched a “pre-loved” resale programme to keep clothes in circulation rather than landfill.
