Sergio Tacchini x Stuarts — A Return to Our Roots
This season, we are proud to revisit our collaboration with Sergio Tacchini, celebrating a shared history that runs deep within British subculture. More than just a collection, this release is a tribute to the eras that shaped us — the terraces, the high streets, and the unmistakable identity of West London style. Reintroducing exclusive reinterpretations of the Donato and the return of our sold out Orion, this drop honours the past while speaking confidently to the present.
At the centre of the collection is the exclusive Buttercream colourway, inspired directly by the original Stuarts storefront in Shepherds Bush throughout the 1970s and 80s. Those who remember it will recall the distinctive tones that defined our shopfront during the golden era of Mods and Casuals. This collection pays homage to that visual identity, translating it into garments that carry both nostalgia and contemporary relevance.
The Return of the Orion — An Icon Reborn
Few silhouettes capture the spirit of late 80s terrace culture quite like the Sergio Tacchini Orion Track Jacket. Pulled straight from the archives, the Orion became synonymous with the Casuals movement, worn by those who travelled the country in pursuit of football, fashion, and individuality. Its bold yet refined design made it instantly recognisable, a staple both on match days and on the streets.
Following the overwhelming response to our previous exclusive, the Stuarts Orion returns — this time as a full tracksuit. Delivered in buttercream with rich merlot detailing, it echoes the colour palette of our 80s storefront, creating a direct link between garment and heritage. The contrast panelling is sharply defined by buttercream and merlot piping across the body and funnel neck, offering a look that feels both archival and elevated. This is not simply a reissue; it is a revival of an era.
Crafted from a soft poly cotton blend, the tracksuit maintains the comfort that made Sergio Tacchini a terrace essential. A full body zip closure, ribbed cuffs and hem, functional lower front pockets, and signature embroidered branding at the chest complete the piece. Every detail has been considered to preserve authenticity while ensuring wearability for today.
A Shared History — Stuarts and the Casuals Movement
Stuarts was founded in 1967 in Shepherds Bush, at the heart of West London. What began as a tailoring shop in the mid 60s, producing made to measure trousers and suits for working Londoners, quickly evolved into something far greater. By the 70s and 80s, Stuarts had become a pilgrimage site for the emerging Casuals movement. Football focused, fashion conscious lads travelled from across the country to get their hands on the latest European sportswear.
Brands like Lois, Fila, Diadora, and Sergio Tacchini defined the away day uniform. These were labels that represented quality, exclusivity, and continental influence. Stuarts London became known as the ultimate destination for those who wanted to stay ahead, curating collections that reflected terrace culture before it hit the mainstream. This collaboration with Sergio Tacchini is a full circle moment, reconnecting with one of the brands that helped define that era.
More Than a Collaboration
This collection is not driven by trends. It is rooted in authenticity. It celebrates the intersection of sport, music, football, and fashion that shaped British street culture. Every stitch, colour choice, and silhouette references a specific moment in time, yet feels entirely wearable today.
Sergio Tacchini x Stuarts represents heritage without nostalgia fatigue. It is a reminder of where we came from and a statement about where we are now. For those who lived it, it is recognition. For those discovering it, it is an education in true terrace style.
Exclusive to Stuarts, this collaboration stands as a tribute to our past, our community, and the enduring influence of 80s Casuals culture. Once again, history is being worn — not remembered.
