Blundstone traces its roots back to 1870 in Hobart, Tasmania, when John and Eliza Blundstone „ British immigrants „ began producing hardy, practical footwear suited to colonial life. Over the years the company weathered economic upheavals, including the Depression of the 1930s when ownership passed to the Cuthbertson family, under whose stewardship Blundstone remained family-owned and committed to quality. While its iconic elastic-sided boots „ staples for farmers, labourers, and even soldiers „ became globally recognised, the company gradually expanded beyond Tasmania and today sells boots and accessories worldwide. Throughout its long history, Blundstone has blended durability, practicality and timeless design, evolving from a local shoemaker into one of the most respected boot brands on the planet.
