Pepsi has collaborated with the Spanish streetwear label Pompeii to introduce a special capsule collection called "La Pretemporada." Following the success of their Pacha shirt, which sold out earlier this summer, this new collection includes another limited-edition jersey that celebrates the love for football, both on and off the pitch.
Named 'La Pretemporada', It draws inspiration from the relaxed vibe of summer preseason training, a time when professional footballers reconnect with the pure enjoyment of the sport, echoing the playful mornings of their childhood on the playground. The updated logo offers a contemporary take on the classic design, featuring a vibrant new colour scheme with electric blue tones and refreshed typography.
Pompeii's streetwear mastery merges effortlessly with Pepsi's refreshed aesthetic, resulting in a distinctive blend of sport and fashion. The collection captures the essence of Pepsi's "Thirsty for More" mantra, embracing bold enjoyment and individuality. Cosme Bergareche, Pompeii's founder and design lead, shares that the collaboration seeks to connect Pompeii's deep-rooted football culture with the nostalgic appeal of Pepsi's iconic football-themed ads from the early 2000s.
Alongside the jersey is also an exclusive 'Pre-Season Essentials' back print motif tee & checked shirt. The tee follows the design of football themed ads popular throughout the early noughties whilst the short-sleeved guayabera shirt is cut from a micro seersucker check with embroidery to the chest and back.
