Fred Perry is one of the most iconic British heritage brands in history. Known for its effortless blend of streetwear and sportswear, the label is famed for its ethos of authenticity and integrity mixed with just the right amount of attitude. Largely tied to the worlds of tennis and the UK subculture, you would be hard-pressed not to find the brand at the helm of some of the most iconic menswear silhouettes of all time.
Behind The Label
Fred Perry was the son of a cotton spinner, who went on to become world table tennis champion at just 19, before switching to lawn tennis and winning Wimbledon three times with his notorious killer forehand. He honed his self-taught techniques at his local public courts in West London, going on to be a successful Davis Cup captain, winner of 10 majors and the first player to win a Career Grand Slam - the only British player to have achieved this to date.
Since the 1940’s this hugely popular designer label has been creating it’s clothing line, initially inspired by tennis players apparel, the brand has gone on to become synonymous with the Mod subculture of the 60’s when skinheads and rockers started wearing the brand’s famous shirts and polo tops with Levi's jeans and Dr. Martens boots.
Here at Stuarts London we are proud to feature this great British brand on our store and know you will find something for you in the current collection. High quality and timeless design are both elements you will come across in our Fred Perry Authentic range whether you choose one of our warming bomber jackets or stylish check shirts.
