Wedgie are an independent British wooden handicraft company, who have close ties with Sri Lanka where the Wedgies are manufactured. Wedgie aim to inject personality and life into all their products, taking inspiration from the pop cultures & celebrity figures of today and yesteryear - bring a sense of humour & smile to your home.
The British brand was founded in 2015 by a couple who met in Sri Lanka and were inspired to set up shop using a local supplier. Today Wedgie is part of an incentive scheme based in Sri Lanka aimed at the empowerment of rural communities, utilising local traditional manufacturing methods.
The production process involves unpainted doorstops delivered directly to employees' houses, along with paints, brushes and tools. Once painted and completed, the Wedgies are paid for on collection. This allows people in rural communities the convenience of earning an income whilst going about their daily routines & tying in with their lifestyle.
