Premium Materials for Maximum Protection
At the core of the Journeyman Backpack is oil finish Tin Cloth, a tightly woven duck canvas infused with a paraffin wax coating for unparalleled water resistance. This time-tested material has shielded generations of loggers and outdoorsmen in the rain-soaked forests of the Pacific Northwest, offering protection from rain, sleet, and snow.
For enhanced structure and long-lasting durability, the back panel and base are reinforced with industrial-strength, 2-ply by 3-ply Rugged Twill. This ensures the pack withstands years of demanding use, whether on rugged trails or in urban environments.
Comfortable, Secure & Built to Last
The Journeyman Backpack features padded shoulder straps, crafted from Tin Cloth and lined with Moleskin, a soft, breathable suede cotton that prevents slipping while improving comfort. These ergonomic, adjustable straps are secured with vegetable-tanned Bridle Leather from Wickett & Craig, a historic Pennsylvania tannery renowned for producing premium leather since 1867. Treated with natural tallows and waxes, the leather gains a supple texture and a rich, lasting sheen, making it as resilient as it is refined.
Smart Storage & Easy Access
The spacious, lined main compartment is protected by a heavy-duty brass YKK® zipper, fully shielded from water by a Tin Cloth gutter along its length. This extended zip opening allows for easy access and excellent visibility inside the bag.
For added functionality, the padded back panel offers protection against sharp or bulky gear, while an internal padded pocket securely holds laptops up to 15 inches. The expandable exterior pocket, complete with corner snaps, provides additional storage for essentials, and its one-hand-operable snap flap keeps contents secure and dry.
