Edwin is a legendary Japanese denim and clothing brand founded in Tokyo in 1947 by Tsunemi_Yonehachi, originally established to import and sell American jeans in post_war Japan before launching Japan's first domestically made denim in 1961; its name is a creative rearrangement of the word ñdenim,î reflecting its deep roots in the fabric's culture and craftsmanship. Over the decades Edwin became known for pioneering innovations„such as heavy ringspun denim with rainbow selvedge in the 1960s, developing ñold washî techniques in the 1970s and stone washing in the 1980s„and has continued to set standards in denim design, production technology, exclusive fabrics and fit while expanding internationally with flagship stores across Europe and beyond.
