Behind The Label

Following World War II, Isamu Takabuki of Hawaii launched Iolani Sportswear, pioneering Hawaiian "Aloha" apparel. His daughter Alice later joined Clarence Hara, and together with Isamu, they founded Fuji Import Company, Inc. in 1957. Specializing in wholesale distribution, they imported luxurious Hawaiian shirts and robes crafted from silk, rayon, and cotton sourced from Japan.
