Barbour x And Wander

The newest collaboration between British heritage label Barbour and Japanese label And wander sees their two outdoor worlds converge. The performance-driven collection includes a complete look of jackets, pants, and hats, all of which include POLARTEC's Alpha Direct lining, which is waterproof, breathable, and toasty.

Barbour

The Barbour narrative began in 1894 in South Shields' Market Place. Barbour's headquarters are in Simonside, South Shields, and the company is still run by fifth-generation family members.

Despite the fact that they source goods from all around the world, Barbour's traditional wax jackets are still handcrafted in the Simonside plant. Barbour presently has retail outlets in over 55 countries throughout the world, including the UK, US, Germany, Holland, Austria, France, Italy, Spain, Argentina, New Zealand, and Japan.

Barbour's essential beliefs as a family firm that espouses the unique values of the British countryside and combines humour, grit, and beauty to its superbly practical apparel remain unchanged.

And Wander

And Wander was founded in 2011 by two designers, Keita Ikeuchi and Mihoko Mori, who previously worked together at ISSEY MIYAKE. This company arose from the two founders' great desire to make "fashion in the wilderness/mountains equally as delightful." We have been striving to provide sophisticated things with a high-fashion style that excites consumers' sensitivities while maintaining the usefulness and practicality of outdoor wear.

And Wander goods are manufactured with sturdy, light-weight fabrics with water-resistance and wind protection, not to mention the distinctive colouring that harmonises with nature while presenting a novel image in town because they understand the pleasure of trekking in the mountains from their own experience. Based on their findings from field testing done both in Japan and abroad, they have been producing high-quality goods using a precise pattern-cutting process and practical design features that promote comfort.

And Wander has gone back over Barbour's extensive archive for this line. The silhouette of the Beaufort jacket essentially remains constant, with small modifications like the And Wander's distinctive body pockets, a removable hood, and reflective stitching and branding, with its pants falling into line. It also overhauled Barbour's adventure hat, which hasn't been produced since 1976, so designs were kept simple - a similar reflective stitching was employed, with detachable POLARTEC ear flaps added for modernisation.

The line, which is available in black, yellow, and khaki colours, provides the necessary performance protection for those dark and windy mountain treks.
