Behind The Label

Founded in Manchester in 1937 by brothers John and Isaac Miller, Baracuta is the definitive architect of the original G9 jacket, the world’s first and most iconic Harrington. Originally designed as a functional golf jacket with its signature "umbrella" back vent to repel rain and raglan sleeves for a free range of motion, the brand rose to global prominence through its association with 20th-century style icons like Elvis Presley, James Dean, and Steve McQueen. Central to the Baracuta identity is the Fraser Tartan lining—a heritage weave granted exclusively to the Miller brothers by the 24th Clan Chief of Fraser. Today, the brand remains a subcultural staple, bridging the gap between British sporting heritage and modernist street style while maintaining its rigorous "Made in England" standards of quality and timeless functional design.
