As part of the Japanese label's FW22 collection, Naked & Famous have released their Blue Smoke Stretch Selvedge. As with all releases from the Canadian-based brand (utilising Japanese fabrics), there is a lot more to the denim than meets the eye.

Coming in weighing 11oz, the pair is on the lighter side in comparison to some of the heavier models from Naked & Famous. This makes the pair a lot more comfortable to wear initially after purchase & reduces the need to 'break in' the selvedge.

The Blue Smoke denim takes its name quite literally from the colourway. The selvedge is a very dark shade of indigo with a hint of black added into the dye, making it appear black in certain lights. The magic is that with time, the indigo dye fades to become a brighter shade of blue, becoming more prevalent with washing and wear.

This dye allows for an amazing wearing look that is unique to each pair-similarly to the patina found on leather goods that come with age & wear. 2% stretch is added for even more mobility and comfort whilst still retaining the favourable classic feel of raw Japanese denim.

Unlike most denim from Naked & Famous, this model boasts detailing that blends into the fabric weave-continuing the dark tones. Featured throughout is black tonal stitching, black mil-spec hardware, black-line selvedge ID & the iconic back suede patch is even black.

The Blue Smoke Selvedge is available in the label's Super Guy fit, online & in-store now at Stuarts London.
