This exclusive combination marks the debut of heavyweight colour-core denim in the market, crafted for denim aficionados seeking something truly unique.
Japanese denim is globally revered for its distinctive fading properties, traditionally achieved through a meticulous rope dyeing process. In this technique, white cotton yarns are dipped in indigo, but not for long enough to dye the core, leaving it white. As the indigo gradually wears off, the white core begins to show, creating the classic denim fade.
Our Colour Core series advances this artistry further. We start with white cotton yarn and apply a permanent red reactive dye that fully saturates the yarn to its core. This yarn is then rope dyed with indigo, resulting in a two-tone effect that intensifies with wear. As the thick Elephant yarns begin to fade, the vibrant red core emerges, delivering a fresh and dynamic fade that sets this denim apart.
Designed to embody the essence of raw denim, this fabric is hefty, rigid, and requires dedicated breaking-in. Other premium details include a classic redline selvedge ID, a robust natural vegetable-tanned leather patch, contrast stitching, and durable silver metallic hardware.
