Founded in 1905 by Charles Beckman in Red Wing, Minnesota, Red Wing Shoes is the definitive architect of American industrial footwear. Originally established to provide durable boots for the rigorous demands of mining, logging, and farming, the brand became a primary supplier for the U.S. Military during both World Wars, cementing its reputation for "indestructible" construction. The label’s legacy is anchored in its ownership of the S.B. The brand is defined by its two most iconic silhouettes: the 875 Mock Toe, introduced in 1952 with its signature white Traction Tred sole, and the Iron Ranger, a rugged cap-toe boot originally designed for the iron miners of the Mesabi Range.
