Fit is an essential ingredient in footwear. There are few simple guidelines that if followed can make the process easy:

1) Tap your heel back in the heel cup and lace the Shoe. The Shoe should feel snug across the ball, around the instep, and in the heel. The arch should be comfortably supported and the toes should be free to wiggle and curl.

2) The toes should not jam into the front of the shoe. Check this by lightly tapping the toe of the shoe into the floor. If the shoe fits correctly, the toes should gently touch the end of the shoe. See below the Dr Marten's size guide.

Stylist Notes

The Made in England Vintage collection is handcrafted by Dr Martens Northamptonshire factory cobblers using original construction techniques — in special American Horween Leathers Chicago Tan Chrome Excel Veg Tan Leather. This leather only gets better with age.

This unisex 1460 boot is made with all the classic Doc's DNA, including grooved sides, heel-loop and yellow stitching. Built to last, it's made using one of the finest methods of construction: the Goodyear Welt — which means the upper and sole are sewn together in our heat-sealed z-welt stitch. The boot sits on our iconic AirWair™ sole, which is oil and fat-resistant, with good abrasion and slip resistance. The Dr Marten Made in England footwear may come with either a gold or yellow scripted heel-loop.
