In 1993, Ralph Lauren embarked on a new venture, launching RRL as a distinct brand dedicated to his vision of Americana-inspired fashion. Drawing inspiration from the rugged beauty of his expansive Colorado ranch, Lauren immersed himself in the history of Western workwear and vintage Americana. This rebranding initiative marked a departure from his Polo mainline, introducing RRL with a fresh concept rooted in the untamed landscapes that surrounded him.

Inspired by the attire of 19th-century gold rush miners, ranch hands, and military uniforms from pivotal American conflicts, RRL became synonymous with the heritage of the American West. Key elements such as leather boots, jackets, Navajo-print blankets, and raw, distressed denim epitomized the authentic Americana aesthetic that defined the RRL brand.
