Pringle Of Scotland

Pringle is well-known for its knitwear. Over the course of two centuries, the brand has embraced the ordinary, the unique, and the unexpected, from traditional Scottish cashmere to striking argyle diamonds and from Grace Kelly's twinset to golfing legends.

Pringle is now regarded as a pioneer of British knitwear as well as an advocate of British heritage and fashion skills. Their current knitwear creations are a reflection of two hundred years of knitting expertise and craftsmanship, combined with a forward-thinking approach to modern living and style.

The geometric argyle design has become one of Pringle's most recognisable characteristics. Perhaps most known for the putting green, it was raised to cult status by HRH the Duke of Windsor, who was quickly imitated by his sophisticated set. Numerous fashion brands use the iconic diamond pattern, although it is widely assumed that Pringle created it.

A collection featuring the argyle pattern with a modern sensibility was released by the brand in 2019 under the label Reissued. The designs are unisex and focus on vibrant colour combinations from archival collections and historical fashion inspirations. Lennon Gallagher, skating legend Lucien Clark, artist Tara Lily, model & music video producer Jyrell Roberts, and model Kasper Kapica all participated in the promotion of Reissued. The collection was launched at the world-famous fashion boutique Dover Street Market in London and Ginza in Japan.

Pringle Of Scotland updated their nostalgic desire in 2020. From The Archives is a special range influenced by the 1980s cult status of Pringle's iconic pastel v-necks. The jumpers, which feature the popular 'Striker' logo, were originally a mark of your fashion tribe.

Pringle has worked with designers, brands, retailers, and talent for many years to create fresh, ever-changing collections. In their Scottish headquarters, Pringle has produced pieces for British brand Palace, and in 2020, they released a capsule collection of items made from repurposed Pringle textiles to attract attention to mindful making and a more sustainable fashion future. The pieces were exclusive to East London concept store LNCC. In 2019, they collaborated with H&M to create a collection honouring historic Pringle styles and patterns.

Her Majesty the Queen awarded Pringle a Royal Warrant in 1956. A message from Clarence House from the Dresser to Her Majesty the Queen Mother merely asking for a 'New Cardigan Please' is one of the most treasured notes in the brand archives.
