Founded in 2012 by brothers António and Manuel Magalhães in the historic northern region of Portugal, Portuguese Flannel is a contemporary shirting specialist built on four generations of textile expertise. Rather than chasing fleeting trends, the brand honors the "slow fashion" heritage of the Magalhães family, who have been involved in the fabric industry since the mid-19th century. Every garment is manufactured in the city of Guimarães—the traditional heart of Portuguese textile production—utilizing ancient techniques and local family-run mills.

Central to the brand’s identity is its mastery of brushed cotton. Unlike mass-produced flannel, Portuguese Flannel uses a meticulous brushing process that raises the fibers of the fabric, creating an exceptionally soft, insulating, and durable texture that breathes naturally.
