I bought this cap for outdoor activities (principally fly fishing) and it's perfect. Everything about the cap is of high quality--the fabric, the design, the craftsmanship, the fit and the look. Most flat caps fly off my head in the wind, but this cap fits firmly and completely covers my head. It's rugged and, if not completely water proof (only time will tell), it's certainly highly water repellent. The brim is deep enough to provide good protection, but not so long that it limits my view. And I'm very happy with the looks of the cap (the trout won't care, but it pleases me).
