Original Penguin x Stuarts

We are excited to announce 4 new colourways of the Original Penguin Earl Polo Shirt - Exclusive to Stuarts. The 4 iterations come in Kashmir Green, French Blue, Lavender Frost & Magenta Purple - all paying homage to the iconic mod style colourways of the 50’s.

The Original Penguin brand boasts their rich brand heritage whilst appealing to today's younger generations with the mantra ‘Be An Original’. Their collections all have a note of humour & fun whilst still reflecting a significant attention to detail. The brand & this collection reflect a rework of archived mid-century designs from the 50s with a seasonal update, perfect for the warmer weather.

The Original Penguin & Stuarts teams decided on using the beautiful Foxhills Country Club as the location for the shoot. We feel the award winning Surrey resort marries perfectly with the collection, with a heritage feel to the grounds & décor that paying homage to the British heritage of Stuarts London & Original Penguin. The model of choice is Doug Allen,  a renowned British actor best known for his role in iconic films such as The Firm, Gangstar No.1, The Guvnors & Band Of Brothers.

Original Penguin had been adorned and adored by the masters of culture and sport. In 1955, a sportswear icon was born from the most unusual of places. Fuelled by whiskey and a delayed flight, Abbot Pederson purchased an unlikely drinking buddy for his flight home in the form of a stuffed penguin he named Pete. Since then Pete the Penguin has left his mark on a league of legends from Frank to Bing and Clint to Arnie.

The iconic Earl polo has been worn by a league of legends from Frank Sinatra to Bing Corby and Clint Eastwood. Featuring unmistakable contrast tipping on the collar, placket, and sleeve cuff the signature polo is finished off with the iconic Pete logo embroidered on the chest.

Fast forward to today & Original Penguin encompasses a marriage of iconic American Sportswear with modern contemporary style to create the ultimate lifestyle clothing. The 4 Exclusive to Stuarts polos play on the colours popularised through the brands journey & our contribution to the ‘Mods’ and 80s Casuals subculture here at Stuarts London.

Crafted from 100% organic cotton, these iterations of the iconic Original Penguin Earl Polo boast contrast coloured tipping on the collar placket & sleeve cuffs of the other colourways. The neckline is finished in a 3 button closure & features a left chest pocket, hosting the Original Penguin logo.
