One of the most recognisable Sportswear labels in the world Kappa has been in existence since 1916 when it originally produced socks. Founded by Abramo Vitale the label quickly became one of the leading socks and underwear producers on the Italian market driven with it's 'K' branding which developed into the iconic boy and girl logo sitting back to back in the late 60's. Becoming one of the brands of choice on the terraces throughout the 80's and 90's - thanks to kit production for team USA in the Los Angeles Olympics and football kit manufacturing for the Italian national side and leading club sides throughout Europe. Behind the label

Kappa was founded in 1916 by Abramo Vitale  under the name Calzificio Torinese.  Originally producing socks due to the facilities farmhouse facilities and machinery given to the brand by their customers at the time an error with a batch of socks led to the issue of K-KONROLL which intended to guarantee  each product with credibility. By the mid 50's the Kappa trademark was born and saw the label become the leading manufacturer of socks and underwear on the Italian market.

Officially registered in 1967 the brand then expanded out into production of sportswear and two years later obtained it's iconic Boy-Girl silhouette logo of the back of a Swimwear photo shoot for a Beatrix catalogue. Gaining an international reputation for sportswear throughout the 80's partly in thanks to  U.S. Track and field athletes wear Kappa® sportswear throughout the Los Angeles Olympics. Many stars like Carl Lewis or Florence Griffith-Joyner climbed the podium wearing the 222 Banda tracksuit immortalised the logo tape detailing to the side seams of sportswear. 

Going bankrupt on 1994 the brand quickly relaunched and continues to be one of the leading sportswear players across the world with sponsorship intake iconic football clubs such a Leeds United and Napoli.
