The brand formed with just four sewing machines and five employees, providing duck and denim overalls under trade union conditions for tough, outdoors and hard grafting jobs. The company's first slogan which still remains prominent in Carhartt today is “honest value for an honest dollar.” Carhartt WIP is Carhartt’s distinctly European cousin which was formed in 1994 by Edwin Faeh, an American clothing fanatic. The brand looked to take the street credibility of the iconic workwear brand into the hands of European skaters, musicians and other trendsetters alike.
