New Balance 1906D, The Latest Addition To The Protection Pack
New Balance’s new 1906D silhouette is latest addition to the labels Protection Pack & it has been as anticipated as ever, following the popularity of the 2002r Protection Pack models. Taking inspiration from the iconic designs of the 2000s, this classic shoe continues to be a staple in the running world & stylish enough for daily wear in the city streets.
New Balance has recently shifted its way in the footwear scene with its range of silhouettes, both old and new, resonating with past and present sneakerheads alike. While the 1906D debuted in 2009, New Balance recognises that it fits into the current sneaker shop space better than ever with their popularity growing rapidly, thanks to it’s chunky silhouette & edgy fabrics.
The uppers of the 1906D is where you can find the signature jagged rough cuts of the Protection Pack, draped in black and grey suede, with each pair having ever so slight slight differences. Underneath the panelling lies a black mesh that forms the majority of the upper, allowing for decent breathability on a shoe that appears so heavily packed.
On the heel sits the 1906D’s plastic heel cage, which along with the wide base of the ABZORB sole unit, provides additional stability. The tongue label has also been given the jagged cut update, with even the bottom eyestay having a skewed finish. The shoe sits on a cream midsole , contrasting the darker hues from above while still including the red “NERGY” hit that has become a mainstay on the protection pack lines.
