The Leather Euro Hiker From Timberland

Born in 1952, the love for the great outdoors has always been at the forefront of Timberlands story since day 1. This Autumn the American label are back with a new iteration of the Euro Hiker, just in time for the cold & wet season ahead.

Like the majority of rugid footwear from Timberland, the outers of this boot are crafted from ‘Better Leather’, sourced from a sustainable tannery rated silver for its environmental processes. These full grain uppers are the compiled of the strongest and most durable leather available for footwear & the tight nature of the fibre construction makes them very moisture resistant.

The lacing that sits to the uppers is a rustproof speed lace hardware system, that allows you to quickly tighten your boots – very handy in sudden heavy downpours. In addition, the rustproof metal hooks paired with rope laces make it a lot easier to tighten in colder temperatures when your hands are seized up.

The midsole is constructed from an EVA-blend foam cushion which provides excellent shock absorption & can withstand colder temperatures without loosing form. EVA cushioning is also renowned for it’s reliability, lasting up to 15 years if treated correctly whereas cork will stay compressed after repeated wear & impact. Boots with this midsole tend to also be a lot ore comfortable straight out of the box, skipping some of that initial break in period that comes with full grain leather boots.

In addition, along the crease that joins the foot sole & midsole there is a durable rubber band that wraps around the outer, protecting the sole from separating from the boot. As with all hard-wearing Timberland’s, the boot sits on a rubber lug outsole, designed to provide grip in all terrains.
