Uncle Bright – Handmade Spanish Craftsmanship
Uncle Bright is inspired by traditional workwear with the philosophy that all garments are created to be worn with a functional yet stylish purpose. All styles are then taken out of context and fused with a Scandinavian feel in terms of fits and colour palettes. Uncle Bright seek to improve iconic garments & footwear in terms of fits, colours and quality.
Introduced in 2015, the apparel collection speaks for itself – fusing together wardrobe staples with a nostalgic twist. Pieces like the Vega Overshirt fuse together a traditional blazer jacket and worker overshirt. The overshirt is unlined constructed without shoulder pads for extra comfort and casual feel with that dropped shoulder look.
Uncle Bright says it is happy to ‘wallow in nostalgia’ – with the brand never looking forward for inspiration. Most worthy of note is the handmade footwear – manufactured in Spain at a factory with more than 100 years of experience, every single boot goes through minimum 200 different stages in production.
The result is a footwear collection of uncompromised quality, reflecting the brands moto of ‘wear, tear & live our garments’. The leather models in their range boast the long specifications of the big name boot brands, such as goodyear welted construction, cork insole fillings & strong toe box and heel cap shell construction.
Leather used in certain uppers also go through 6 months of tanning to get the right tones, then paired with tonal piping detailing around the lacing – held by metal eyelets. Models like the Western Derby also feature a strong toe box & heel cap shell construction -embedding & protecting the heel of your foot whilst wearing.
