Workwear Capsule SS21

For our Workwear Capsule, we put together some of our favourites from this season including Monitaly, Danton, Anonymous Ism, Workware, Universal Works, Armor Lux, Portuguese Flannel, Uniform Bridge, Gramicci and Stan Ray in order to showcase the quality clothing these brands produce and to help give some ideas of how to combine workwear pieces for a relaxed but put-together style.

Workwear is a style that is often based around traditional manufacturing methods and clothing that is hard-wearing as well as practical. Seeking out the best quality fabrics and sometimes developing their own each brand every season brings new styles and innovations that we really wanted to showcase for this capsule.

In this Stuarts London Work Wear Capsule, we wanted to showcase the Workwear style which features brands that often focus on the quality of fabrics and finishings, as well as functionality, and a style that is subtle but easily identifiable.

Some of the brands featured include Monitaly – based out of LA, USA who have developed a following for their unique style, vintage-inspired designs and next-level quality. Danton, a brand with a long history that began in France and has been revived with fresh ideas and styles that is Japanese-informed.

Universal Works are based out of the UK give a British twist on the workwear style, with special attention to fabrics and the functionality of their garments. Originally developing clothing for climbers, Gramicci has utility built into their DNA and their climbing trousers and shorts are still a fan favourite.

Now the brand produces a full range every season and continue to impress us with the quality and fresh aesthetic that they bring. Heading over to the sun-kissed streets of the Northern towns of Portugal that has a long history with the manufacturing of quality garments, Portuguese flannel produce clothing that is worn in hot weather – their speciality being their open collar, made of lightweight materials that will keep you cool no matter the weather.
