Fred Perry SS21: First Look

While the fashion world is always on the lookout for the latest trend, some brands have always marched to the beat of their own drum. Fred Perry is most definitely one of those brands that instead of shifting to adapt to what’s popular now, double down on their brand values and distil them into every collection they release.

This is clear to see for their latest SS21 collection that draws upon the past and the brand’s long heritage but at the same time is bang on with modern styling that makes for clothing you really want to wear. Lightweight knit polos, along with their classics such as the M12 Polo Shirt, M3600 Polo Shirt and even the original M3 made just like the one worn by the man himself all those years ago is now available in all their original glory.

One of the stand out features of the collection this season is its rich colour palette which includes a wide selection of vintage colours that were fairly commonplace many years ago but are now rarely seen today; colours like Avocado Green, Aubergine, French navy, Hunting Green, Coral, and more.

Where it all started for Fred Perry, back in 1952 little did Fred know the impact him wearing the shirt would have on style and subculture. The M3 is Fred Perry’s ode to the original featuring an original looser fit for better manoeuvrability both on and off the court, a two-button placket and stripped-down minimal style with no tipping detail which we think really sets this one apart. Still made in the original factory in Leister, as it has been for the last 60 years. The finishing on the polo is extra nice and we’re really excited to see this one back in the Fred Perry’s Reissues collection this season. Check out the range here.

The first ever twin-tipped polo shirt that is so often imitated but never quite the same as the original. It was the polo shirt that took the sportswear to the streets and pushed against the stuffy old style of the 50s and 60s and became the part of the uniform of unique subcultures that were shaping cultural landscape and doing it in style.

A boxier style than its more modern and slimmer cut cousin the M3600 and available in carefully reproduced colourways of the originals often mimicking the colours of peoples favourite football teams. If you want true, original Fred Perry with their trademark tipping detailing then this is the one you want. Shop the range here.

The M3600 is Fred Perry’s latest incarnation of their iconic polo. The M3600 comes in a slimmer cut and made on state of the art manufacturing machines and processes. Available in huge number of colours so you can find the perfect one for yourself.

If you’re looking for a slightly closer fit and more flattering fit with all the style of the original then the M3600 will be perfect. Find your perfect polo here.

Knit Polos

Always aware of their heritage, Fred Perry have included some very nice knit polos in their SS21 collection that bring a heavy dose of vintage style straight out of the 60s that has a wearability factor that the modern wearer will love. The lightweight shirts and polos from the collection make for a great alternative to t-shirts or regular polos this season with an added smartness without going overboard.

Check out the Fred Perry Reissues collection for re-creations of original archive pieces with directional modern styling. Extra special attention is given to every detail with period-accurate materials used.

The warm weather staple has not been overlooked by the brand and this season they go for bold designs reminiscent of the wave of Fred Perry tees that were popular amongst the trendies of the early 2000s and before. Now updated with modern styling and materials for a collection of tees that are wearable all year round.
