Red Wing Womens: Handmade Heritage

Redwing is renowned for creating boots that are fit for adventure as well as adding a heritage, stylish feel to your everyday look. Red Wing Shoe Company is a family-owned business that was founded in Red Wing, Minnesota in 1905. Since its inception, the milestones have been many, including: The debut of the Gloria, our original women’s boot, in 1926, the creation of the 877 Moc Toe in 1952, and the acquisition of S.B. Foot Tanning Company in 1987. Red Wing Heritage continues to build on this historic legacy with lifestyle footwear that is crafted with pride and purpose.

Our footwear is built using last construction for superior fit. A last is a foot-shaped piece of plastic that the leather upper is pulled over before the boot or shoe is welted or stitched down into its final form. Many of our lasts originated in the 1950s and have been updated over the years.

Beginning in the 1970s, Red Wing owners in Europe and Japan began wearing work boots and shoes as stylized Americana footwear. Years later, the success of a Red Wing Lifestyle partnership with J Crew culminated in the launch of Red Wing Heritage in 2007. Ever since then, the boot brand has taken the industry by storm by following one simple thing – quality boots that are hand crafted with exceptional materials.

Today, Heritage continues to build on Red Wing Shoe Company’s storied legacy with traditional construction and timeless design. The result is footwear that is crafted with pride to create quality that lasts.

Handmade. Every boot has a story behind it and with it being held down in a clamp, so some slight imperfections can be found but this of course adds to the character of each and every boot. Red Wing Heritage footwear is hand built to last for years and even decades. Beyond long-lasting durability, each American-made style develops a personalized fit and beautiful leather patina over time. As boots and shoes are worn and cared for, footwear molds to feet and the leather tells the unique story of where it has been. We are excited to now having Red Wing Women’s arriving. From the classic Moc Toe women’s boot style, to the Silver Smith style. The boots will be arriving in the coming weeks, be sure to sign up to our email newsletter to be the first to know…

We have a variety of styles and colourways arriving for the latest Red Wing Womens collection. We have the Silversmith, Moc Toe and Iron Ranger silhouettes in an array of leathers/colours.

The moc toe was first made by Red Wing in 1952. In the decades since, it’s grown into one of the most beloved lifestyle boots in the world. The boot was originally made for sportsmen, but it soon grew into a favourite of farm and factory workers for its long-lasting construction and all-day comfort. The women’s 6-inch Moc is redesigned with softer leather and a polyurethane Traction Tred outsole for faster break-in and comfort. The boot’s iconic Moc toe construction is an unmistakable symbol of Red Wing quality, and Puritan triple stitching and a Goodyear welt allow for years of daily wear.

The Iron Ranger was originally built for iron miners in Northern Minnesota in the 1930s. In the decades since, it has grown to become indispensable for generations of owners. The women’s Iron Ranger is built with soft leather to ensure comfortable and flexible wear straight out of the box. Each pair of boots develops a personalized fit and custom comfort thanks to a Texon insole that forms to feet. The Puritan triple-stitched boots are built with a Goodyear welt and brass speed hooks for precision lacing and a visual hit of hardware. The Iron Ranger is anchored with a Vibram® 430 Mini-lug outsole.
