Sebago x Baracuta

Two iconic designs. Two creators. United through their dedication to design and craftsmanship. Sebago and Baracuta have joined forces in a celebration of their best loved designs. For Sebago, the Dockside Boat shoe and the Dan Penny Loafer and for Baracuta the iconic G9 Harrington Jacket. The Sebago penny loafer was one of their original designs along with the Dockside Boat Shoe which transformed the American man’s wardrobe and has been a staple ever since. Well known for their build quality and versatility the Dan Penny Loafer is just as popular today it was when in its inception around 40 years ago.

In the Sebago x Baracuta collab we see the familiar full grain leather, hand finished sleekness of the Dan Penny Loafers with some playful touches by Baracuta. The eyelet of the loafer has been filled with a subtle peek of the Baracuta tartan which gives a nice contrast to the rich shiny leather. The insole, usually of a matching colour to the upper, has been swapped out for a striking red, reminiscent of the iconic Baracuta jacket worn by James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause. These tasteful details elevate the shoes to another level and stand apart when it comes to quality and style. Another iconic design the Dockside Boat Shoe have hand-crafted by Sebago for more than 40 years with little change to the original design. Known for their handsewn genuine moc construction, slip-resistant rubber sole, and non-corrosive brass eyelets. The docksides quickly became a wardrobe staple for the American people and later the world. In the collaboration we see all the classic Dockside details like full box hand sewn construction, heel reinforced stitching which connects the sole and the upper and gives extra support, slip-resistant outer sole which were designed to give sailors a safe and easy move from deck to land and with their low profile give a great casual look for everyday users. But here we see the shoes reimagined with the usual smooth leather upper swapped out for gorgeous suede. The shoe take inspiration from the classic Baracuta tartan design with an eye-catching red, blue and dark green incorporated into the shoe. A leather insole and leather lining have been introduced for added comfort and an extra lux feel.
