Aquascutum AW18 Collection Available Soon At Stuarts London

Aquascutum’s bi-annual collection will hit our shelves soon, this one being catered toward the colder months of the year.

Founded in 1851, Aquascutum’s heritage is rooted in the excellence of British tailoring and has always delivered a stylish and luxurious elegance. Little known is the meaning of the label’s name, the words ‘Aqua Scutum’ in Latin translates to ‘Water Shield’; Tailor and founder of the brand, John Emary, was responsible for pioneering the first waterproof wool fabric, then used from 1914 to make functional trench coats for officers in the First World War.

The new AW18 Collection joins a long list of other British heritage brands cold weather offerings, such as Fred Perry. The collection is inspired by a journey through the Northern landscapes and rugged terrains of Britain – rediscovering and remembering the craftsmanship, techniques and fabrics from a bygone era. The collection includes modern interpretations of classic British fabrics such as tartan, tweeds and checks, which are paired with technical nylons and timeless coatings. Taking direction from the countryside, the goal of the classic British label was to create an iconic and modern concept linked to the wonderful Scottish landscape. The main focus is placed on products to showcase the quality and British essence that marks Aquascutum as one of leading heritage brands.

Key pieces from the new collection includes seasonal prints and jacquards, directly influenced by winter landscapes, having been developed and exclusively designed for Aquascutum. Along with a foundation colour palette that takes inspiration from the rich autumnal tones and textures of the Scottish Highlands, this collection is not one to miss out on.

The new collection will be available in store and online from next week.
