It’s getting to that time of year where summer holidays are on everybody’s minds. It’s been a long winter and although the worst of the cold weather seems to finally be behind us (touch wood!), many of us are already longing for summer. Planning, considering or simply fantasizing about a relaxing summer holiday abroad is just what we Brits need to get us through those rainy spring days. And what better way to choose where to holiday abroad than by looking at some of our fave celebrities favoured destinations? If it’s good enough for them, right?

Here’s just a few of the top summer holiday destinations for 2016, as tried and tested by the world’s most rich and famous.

St Tropez

Exuding glamor, St Tropez is a known hotspot for the rich and the famous, with Mel Gibson, Colin Firth and Johnny Depp all choosing to holiday here. Whether you’re lounging on a yacht, celeb spotting in one of the area’s many bars or restaurants or simply soaking up the sun on the beach, keep it comfortable and simple in light fabrics. Think chino shorts with white canvas shoes – we love these Novesta shoes, great for adding a casual yet sophisticated edge to your holiday look.

Anyone who’s anyone can be found at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California. With a lineup including Calvin Harris, The Last Shadow Puppets and The 1975, it’s sure to be a stylish affair. Fashion wise, a festival is the perfect place to experiment with styles. Try hip, printed shirts, distressed denim and lots of accessories. We think this Replay light wash denim shirt is perfect for festival season.

Dubai marina during twilight

Dubai marina during twilight

For a destination that feels like summer all year round, why not join the likes of the Beckhams, Jude Law and even fashion designer Giorgio Armani, and visit luxurious Dubai? Dubbed the ‘world’s fastest growing city’, this glamourous destination has everything you could want, from expansive shopping malls to stretching beaches. Style wise, here it is important to be respectful. Stick to classic outfits with longer trousers or chinos (definitely no short shorts!) and shirts. Light fabrics will help keep you cool and looking smart – this stylish Hugo Boss white linen shirt is ideal.

Lake Como and Venice

This exclusive Italian lakeside escape attracts a multitude of famous faces, with George Clooney, Madonna and Richard Branson all owning properties here. During Venice Film Festival, which is around three hours drive away from Lake Como, the area is crawling with celebrities. Here you should dress to impress – the Italians are known for their flawless fashion so take the chance to showcase some stylish new looks. The style here is generally crisp, smart and fashionable – think plain black or white shirts with tailored shorts or chinos and smart loafers. This pair of tailored Diesel shorts are great for a stylish yet casual holiday look.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

This stunning resort city is a known hotspot for stylish celebrities such as Will Smith, George Clooney and Justin Timberlake. Famous for it’s huge range of water based activities, the dress code here is definitely casual as you’ll be spending so much time in swim and beachwear. Dress down in the daytime in t-shirts and shorts and switch it up with smarter jeans for an evening out. We think this pair of Orlebar Brown Boardshorts are great for a practical yet stylish daytime look.

Wherever you choose to holiday this year, here at Stuarts London we have a great range of clothing to choose from – check out our new arrivals to stay at the forefront of fashion no matter where you are.
