PREVIEW: TukTuk SS13 Lookbook. Well known for their collections of shirts, TukTuk also make accessories and new to that range come these, a bi-fold wallet and smaller card holder, both of which come in a classic tan coloured, pebble textured leather. Primary inspirations for the brand come from surroundings. and inspiration from the wonderful colours, tastes, scents and personalities of South Asia.
TukTuk have put together their SS’13 lookbook which is Inspired by the desert island style of surroundings of Sri Lanka. – where their British design team is based. The collection bases itself around sailors, yachtsman and the wonders of harbouring on a tropical island.
There is a playful, almost vintage feel across the collection. The shirting includes nautical inspired anchor prints and embroidery, along without he maritime themed names like vibrant ‘Ahoy! Summer Check’ and ‘On-Deck Stripe’ shirts. Tropical inspiration can be found in the form of a pop-art style banana print and an array of bright jungle style fauna prints.
They believe in garments that fit well, that have a strong emphasis on bespoke tailoring, and that personify their beliefs, inspirations and brand ethos. Respectable local factories, and skilled tailors and craftsmen make all of their clothing and accessories. TukTuk’s aim is to produce high quality, long lasting products that are bought and sold for a reasonable and fair price.
Products are manufactured from interesting, colourful, unique, and occasional vintage fabrics, Avoiding mass production where possible, and buy low quantities of fabrics to keep our styles as fresh and as individual as possible.
